Imam Hassan A. Amin

By the grace of Allah, lmam Hassan A. Amin has a Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. Also, he is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker in the State of Maryland, with over 25 years experience improving upon the quality of life of others. Imam Amin is presently an Administrator with the Maryland Department of Human Resources. Imam Amin is also a college instructor at Sojourner-Douglass College of Baltimore. Additionally, he is the former principal and a volunteer social worker at the Islamic Community School of Baltimore. He has studied and taught the Islamic religion for the past 29 years. He has received two Citations and a Proclamation from the Mayor of Baltimore City, for his involvement against neighborhood trash, drugs and crime. Imam Amin is presently the Islamic liaison person between the Mayor’s Office’s of Baltimore City and the Muslim community. For over three years Imam Amin has been the Islamic Chaplain at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Imam Amin is a former member of United States’ Army’s elite 82nd Airborne Division. Imam Hassan A. Amin is an inductee in the International Marital Arts Hall of Fame.

*Imam Amin is the Executive Director and founder of the Muslim Service Social Agency in Baltimore City

*Called upon by the Mayor’s Office of Baltimore City concerning Islamic cultural rites and rituals

*Imam Amin is the Muslim Chaplain at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore City

*Co-founder and executive member of the City of Baltimore Muslim Council

*Assisted the Mayor’s Office to sponsor the first dinner held for Muslims in City Hall during the month of Ramadan 1424

*On March 4, 2004 the first time Islamic prayers were held in Baltimore’s City Hall, lead by Imam Hassan A. Amin

*Awarded two Citations from the Mayor of Baltimore City for Volunteer services and Islamic guidance provided to the Office of the Mayor of Baltimore City

*Received a Proclamation from the Mayor of Baltimore City proclaiming, “March 4, 2004 Imam Hassan A. Amin Day in Baltimore City”

*Founding member of the Imams Council of Islamic Affairs of Maryland

*He is presently studying at the American Open University (Arabic, Tafseer of Quran, Tajweed, Hadith, Fiqh, Islamic Jurisprudence and Islamic Fiqh)

*He was the first Muslim to present an Islamic sunrise segment on WBAL Channel 11 in Baltimore City

 *For one year he was the developer and host of the Baltimore City area’s first thirty minute Islamic radio program, WEBB radio station in Baltimore station
